Alkappuri Sindhi Panchayat was formed on 24-6-1989 with following 11 office bearers. Late Shri B. S. Lachhiramani as President, Late Shri S. H.Makhijani as Vice- President, Late Shri K. S. Merani as Secretary, Late Shri K. M. Tarwani as Jt. Secretary, Late Shri G. C. Chanchlani as Treasurer. The other office bearer were: Late Shri V. J. Ambwani, Late Shri H. P. Lulla, Shri S. M. Khurana, Shri M. B. Chawla, Shri V. U. Matai, Late Shri A. P. Kewalramani. All the office Bearers were eminent persons of Vadodara.

A year later, Alkapuri Sindhi Association (ASA) was formed and Registered wide Registration no. F-511 dated 2-6-1990. A decade later in 1999 a new activity Sindhi Jeevan Sathi Melap Centre was started. This Centre is actively functioning today. Since inception the following two activities are celeberated regularly viz. Chetichand -Sindhi Annual Day and Shri Guru Nanak Dev Janam Jayanti. For the first time we are celeberating our establishment day today and shall be celeberated every year.
